Triamine (I) is condensed with 2-(methylsulfanyl)-4,5-dihydroimidazole hydroiodide (II) to produce the target bis-imidazoline compound. After purification as the picrate salt, treatment with Amberlyte IRA400 (Cl- form) exchange resin generates the corresponding trihydrochloride salt.
